The Process

for building this Playbook

The main focus of building the playbook is not about the content, it is about strengthening the collective’s facilitation skills. The content is just a tool for discovery and a platform for people to come together and strengthen their skills through social learning. The driving force is the connection around the content.

The Elements

  • The Collective Power Playbook network of facilitators/convenors
  • The discussion list – this is an email list where we ask people for their asynchronous feedback on the playbook
  • The contributor sessions – these are live online sessions where the network comes together to get updates, trial content and feedback.
  • Google docs – this is an online tool where people can collaborate on a live document
  • The CollectivePower.net website

The Process

The process we go through to contribute to this  playbook is:

  1. Create a draft play using the template and submit it to Dirk & Jesse.
  2. We’ll schedule trials at a Contributors Session (or two)
    • Get Feedback from contributors
  3. We’ll then share on the Discussion List to engage the network and ask for feedback.
  4. Iterate
  5. Publish
  6. and Add Credit
    • Credit will be given to everyone involved in giving feedback and getting the exercise published

This playbook will always be a work in progress. There will always be more plays that could be included, and there will always be iterations to the current content. This process will continue.
